January 2005 to June 2005: Country Director for Uplift International. Established the Indonesian office of this US-based NGO. Initiated and coordinated tsunami relief projects for Aceh.
December 2003 - December 2004: Freelance and consultant. Worked in Timor-Leste as Editor -Translator for CAVR (Truth and Reconciliation Commission).
September 2001 to Nov 2003: Community Development Specialist, ExxonMobil Oil Indonesia. Guide and advise Community Relations staff to identify , evaluate feasibility, design, initiate, oversee, manage and evaluate progress of community development programs for the company's operations in North Aceh and East Java. Establish and foster relations with potential partners, i.e. NGOs, international donors. Established a library/playgroup for community children in North Aceh. Initiated a program between the company and the local government for the establishment of pre-school educational structures. Led a project in East Java involving the restoration of 26 places of worship in cooperation with a local pesantren.

May 1997 - December 1999: PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara - Superintendent Bilingual Material Production Established PT NNT's translation unit and responsible for the quality of all outgoing material in English and Indonesian. In establishing the translation unit at the time of construction, the brief was to employ English language graduates from the local university. The training of translators was primarily on-the-job and involved the teaching of translating techniques, and on-screen translating with the assistance of cutting edge technology in computer aided translation. The task was to train a team of translators (varying between 12 and 20) in translation techniques, accuracy and consistency of language and terminology, producing technical glossaries in consultation with end user and providing sufficient exposure to mine equipment and environment to facilitate understanding of machinery and processes in translating technical training modules. In addition to the training function, tasks included the management of the staff and work processes for the entire unit, editing of material in both English and Indonesian. Development and implementation of an internationally accredited Diploma for Translators in the Mining Industry providing an international professional certification.
March 1996 - April 1997: Forensic Behavior Investigative Services - Security Team member Document specialist/ interpreter and advisor on cross- cultural and community issues at PT Kelian Equatorial Mining (East Kalimantan) on upgrading security facilities, human resources and community relations; translation of training manuals and staff training.
January 1996 - April 1997: Study, preparation and submission of proposals to donor agencies for community development/health programs in Indonesia's Nusa Tenggara Timur and East Timor.
1993 - 1997: A.S.E.A. REHAB, Founder and Coordinator - Assisted establishment and running of a the foundation providing health and surgical services to Eastern Indonesia. Member of an Australian medical/surgical team Duties as program coordinator/advisor, scheduling of visits and operations.
